Dizzy's Designer Dreams

From one designer bargain hunter to another...

Hi, I'm Dizzy! A finance professional in my early 30s who is constantly balancing the precision of numbers with a passion for the finer things in life 💅👛✨🎀  (i.e. I work to fuel my designer bag addiction). I'm a self-proclaimed bargain hunter with an eye for designer pieces and a knack for uncovering hidden gems in the world of vintage luxury fashion.

My obsession first began whilst navigating the halls of a stuffy investment bank. I was lost in a sea of blue, gray, and black suits paired with Patagonia vests and was desperate for some fun and pizazz in my day to day. After some time, I befriended a few fabulous ladies who sported most notably their Hermes Kellys, Celine Cabas’, and  YSL Manhattans in Manhattan nonetheless, and there a monster was created. I wanted all of those bags and more! When I'm not navigating the world of finance, you can find me curating my collection of timeless bags (baguette and jodie are my favorites), exploring vintage shops in NYC, and sharing my latest fashion discoveries with my friends, which is what inspired me to create this newsletter.

Through my newsletter, I want to take you on a journey back in time to find the most unique vintage designer pieces both in boutique shops, as well as in the hidden corners of the internet. Whether you are browsing for fun, buying your very first designer bag, or adding to your existing collection, we will have a blast scouring the depths of the interweb for a good deal!

Find today’s designer dreams below, and be sure to act fast!

  • Bet you didn’t know Goodwill not only has designer bags at severely discounted prices, but they also authenticate their bags for what is being purchased online. The items go FAST so bid while you can. This week's most notable mentions go to this gorgeous Dior Pouchette and the always classy Fendi Baguette (do you see that price? 👀).

  • Next up we have this GORGEOUS and very on trend preppy chic Burberry Pochette from Designer Revival, arguably one of New York’s best consignment stores located in a quaint corner of the Upper East Side.

  • An oldie but a goodie, the Mulberry Bayswater Tote from Vestiaire- it is giving Birkin, it is giving Margaux, it is GIVING because it is .00001% of the price of the aforementioned. I recently scooped one of these up in a green/gray color for roughly the price you will find here. These bags are sturdy in an insane way and fill the same purpose that your large Longchamp from college does whilst looking 1 million times more stylish/mature/chic but still fitting your laptop/makeup bag/gym clothes.

  • Last we have some pics from The (sometimes trustworthy) Real Real! I have shopped from here a number of times over the years and have walked away with definitively real pieces all but one time. I forgive them for that fake Chanel wallet that I ever so wish was real to this day - at least they let me return it. I find that vintage bags on TRR are rarely counterfeit and a few of the underrated ones can be found below:

    • Another Fendi Canvas Logo bag. I am obsessed with Mamma Baguettes so anything that comes nearly close will always catch my eye. Gorgeous color that will go for every season, and you will get compliments regularly because it is different enough that not many will have seen this Zuccachino.

  • This LV Mini Sac. While $500 is usually my limit for my vintage bags, and I have sourced many vintage LVs for under that price, this specific one is VERY tempting to go over my materiality threshold! It is just so cute and I do love a mini bag.

  • Last but not least, inspired by my mothers vintage Gucci that she somehow let me convince her to take - a Gucci Shoulder Bag with a twist - it’s denim!!! Though a trusted confidant has advised me never to buy a denim bag, I must admit it is tempting as they are so on trend. This one is at least a fraction of the price of the LV and Jacquemus denim ones that everyone is sporting.
