Bloom, Baby, Bloom!
A little Eid recap, a lot of emotion, and some colorful bags to help us all protest beautifully.

Hellooooo Gentle Readers! I know it has been a few weeks since you heard from me, but don’t you worry, I have MANY things in store for y’all over the coming weeks ❤️. But first a little spring/Eid/April recap!
After my last edition, I got some requests to do a hunt for more colorful bags (ykwyr). While the New Yorker in me’s guard immediately went up at that comment, I came around to realize that this person does have a point. From the impending cherry blossoms bursting into bloom across the world, to the vibrant clothes that dawned the Muslim Met Gala—aka Eid prayers under the Washington Square Arch—I am seeing color everywhere, so why not in our bags?
The Muslim Met Gala this year especially felt a bit more… how you say, healing? aching? quietly defiant? All of the above? With colleges and universities canceling research programs, students getting scooped up by ICE for absolutely no underlying reason aside from their perceived race/religion and/or online posts, this year felt extra charged. There have been so many students and citizens detained or harassed over the last few weeks. Their only offense? Being visibly Muslim and unafraid to speak up. It’s hard not to feel like peaceful prayer in public spaces isn’t just spiritual—it’s radical.
A mass gathering of Muslims peacefully praying—not to mention the amazing and soulful khutba by NY’s favorite, Khalid Latif—it felt like a protest just occupying that much space in one of NY’s most iconic parks. Coupled with the fashion, the friends, the traditions. Ugh. Sorry. Too many emotions.
Speaking of fashion: Eid style always slaps, but this year people really showed out. Think jewel-toned ghararas, powder-blue kurtas, rich emerald scarves, and earrings bigger than your future. It wasn’t just fashion for fashion’s sake—it was resistance wrapped in silk, joy stitched into every thread. So with that, here are some cutie colorful bags that I foresee the baddies at the arch carrying next year 😚

Last week someone asked me my favorite color and I said Barbie Pink (truth), so here is a Jimmy Choo ode to that from TRR.
Next up we have this purple Pucci 😚😚😚😚 moment. This bag is perfect for a fancy dinner out or for your euro summer outfits. Toooo bad we can’t buy from overseas anymore because the Japanese Pucci hauls were to die for. Sigh.
I would not be true to my brand if I did not shill an LV monogram bag in every newsletter. This one is an homage to the building they are constructing on 5th ave with party in the front AND back. Fun fact: I just helped another dear reader purchase an LV monogram bag. She received the bag and a job offer from LV itself in the same week 😍
I also would not be true to my brand if I did not always keep an eye out for some City Bag. This purple passion is inspired by my bestie Ameera who has this bag in a gunmetal color that I have been lusting over for the last 3 years. It’s three bags in one!!!!!! (Shoulder, cross, clutch 😈) Maybe my favorite color is purple oops don’t tell Barbie.
Last but not least, I HAVE to shill some Foreign Objects, and no not because I just bought another bag from them 🤫. This Prada is more for a woah, this exists vibe? Great price and it IS pretty funky. Could be styled to perfection, but just fun to see the variety that used to be designer bags before they started shipping everything to China. I said what I said. More on that SOOOOOON. 👀
